If I remember correctly cooking turnips is a little bit different than cooking collards or mustard greens. If this is the case can anyone tell me how to cook turnip greens?
Sue, Turnip Greens have a rather bitter taste. However they are delicious. Once you have cleaned your greens and they are draining....place oil in a pot...rather tall for the amount of greens you are cooking. Cut up an onion, white or golden....place the onion in the hot oil and saute until soft...over medium heat. Add your greens...season with seasoning of choice...I use Tony Cachers....add a little sugar and Apple cider vinegar...you shouldn't need to add any water but if needed...Once greens are almost done...if you want...add diced Turnip bottoms on top of greens until soft. ENJOY!!!

How to Cook Turnip and Mustard Greens by: Soul Food Chef
Sue, thanks for asking the question of how to cook turnip greens. I love my collard greens but from time to time I get the taste for turnip and mustard greens as well. Turnip greens which are slightly sweet when compared to collard greens and have a similar taste to mustard greens, can be prepared just like collard greens (boiled). If you are looking to cook up some bundles of turnips just follow the link below:
