I just learned how to make iced tea. Its so simple that I just have to share the process with anyone who is willing to read what I have to say about making iced tea.
I'm a northerner, so growing up I never really had sweet iced tea until I visited the south recently. Boy have I been missing out on a good thing.
Here is how to mix the iced tea. You will need the following ingredients:
3 family sized tea bags
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 to 1-1/3 cups sugar
In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add baking soda to the water, let dissolve and then add the 3 tea bags. Remove the pot from the heat and cover with a lid.
Allow the tea to seep for at 10 to 15 minutes.
Pour your tea into a gallon pitcher and add the sugar, stirring well until sugar dissolves. Fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water, stir vigorously again, then refrigerate until well chilled.
If you must have a glass immediately, just add ice.
Finally in case your wondering, the baking soda will make your tea less bitter.
So that's how to make iced tea.
