I found this interesting video the other day, which teaches you how to make southern cornbread in a cast iron skillet.
The video only runs for about 1 minute and 18 seconds, however in this short amount of time they successfully teach you the important aspects of how to make corn bread the quick and easy way.
What I like most about this corn bread recipe is the technique of using the cast iron skillet to create some great tasting and satisfying corn bread to go along with your favorite meats and side dishes.
You're in for a real treat if this is your first time oven baking cornbread in a cast iron skillet. My least favorite thing is that the cornbread is unsweetened -- my personal preference is to prepare sweet corn bread.
After mixing up all the ingredient, the cooking actually occurs in the oven. Although cast iron is preferred you can also use a regular cornbread baking pan if that's all you have.
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
I personally tried out the recipe myself, it turned out great as expected. Complements to the folks at Country Living Magazine for shooting this video.
