Yes some diets do work. It just depends on what you call a diet. If you are on a starvation meal plan then no you are doing more harm, but if you are eating from all of the food groups, minimizing the ones with too many carbs or fats and increasing the veggies, a diet will work. Any diet that completely eliminates one food group or the other will not have long lasting effects.
