GRAB THE BOX OF INSTANT MASHED POTATOES by: Everland Farm
I added extra half and half, then I added milk, then I added sour cream and finally - I grabbed the box of Idaho instant mashed potatoes and sprinkled & stirred that in. Left the cover off for some evaporation. Yes! Potatoes fixed.

Perfect fix for too salty mashed potatoes by: Jerry Tate
Just figured this out tonight... You guys are all gonna love me!! Scrub up two or three uncooked potatoes, (more or less depending on how large your original batch is.) Toss them in the microwave for three to five minutes, until a fork slides in easily. Mash 'em up in a separate bowl til they match the consistency of the salty ones. Mix them in a couple spoons at a time til you get the desired flavor. This fixes the problem without adding dairy or other liquids that can ruin the consistency. Obviously, you need to have a few potatoes left In the bag for this to work, but work it does... Like a charm!!

Salty mash potato? by: Vilma Sandoval
I added more almond milk (as I am Vegan), water and a piled potato. Make sure to taste all ingredients individual before you mix them sometimes they already contains salt and please don't forget to read the potato flakes box ingredients some already has sodium added I forgot to reading mine.

Too Much Salt? by: Anonymous
If you added too much salt, add some plain yogurt to it. There's no actual ratio to it, just add to taste.
If you're a bit unsure of how it's going to taste, then mix some up in a bowl for your own sample.

How to Fix Salty Mashed Potatoes by: Soul Food Chef
I normally recommend using a peeled potato to absorb the extra salt. But since your dish is mashed potatoes this want work.
Sorry to say that probably your best bet is to start over.
Does anyone else have any tips or ideas as how best to salvage mashed potatoes that are too salty?
